Camouflaged Opel Astra Sedan Spotted – Should the Buick Verano Get This Design

Remember that 991-series Porsche 911 Turbo we spotted testing in Sweden last week Well that wasn’t the prototype we caught testing – we also managed to snap a number of pictures within the deep freeze near the Arctic Circle of an updated Opel Astra sedan, a car that’s mechanically on the topic of the Buick Verano. Snapped by senior features editor Jonny Lieberman, these images show what looks to be a mildly updated Astra sedan. Upfront, the Astra four-door a rather different grille than other Astra sedans and the waterfall grille we get at the Buick Verano, with a far larger badge, but an otherwise identical design. McLaren P1 Engine Note, Instrument Cluster Previewed Previous to Geneva

With the McLaren P1′s official debut on the Geneva Motor Show lower than a month away, McLaren has yet again released additional information at the forthcoming supercar. The British company showed off the P1′s instrument cluster, revealed details on its “Race” mode, and released a quick video that includes the sound of the car’s engine. The brand new photos reveal that the McLaren P1 will use a completely digital instrument cluster that may display the car’s current gear, speed, and other information like coolant or oil temperature. When Race mode is chosen, the highest of the display shows green, red, and blue dots meant to emulate the shift lights on Formula 1-car steering wheels. We Hear: Cadillac to Upgrade/Speed-Up CUE System

Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system has various processing power at its disposal, but no processor could stop the flow of negative reviews for the system, which criticized its laggy nature. Cadillac hopes to repair that problem with a rumored software upgrade. Cadillac CUE design manager Jeff Massimilla said as much to Wired, which reported the upgrade yesterday afternoon. The report goes directly to say that the software upgrade will talk about CUE’s number 1 issue: the lag between pushing a virtual button or the touch screen and the haptic feedback (which vibrates the screen or touch panel). The update must also smooth out and accelerate inputting information or queries. Chevrolet Malibu, Buick LaCrosse Production Idled Again to minimize Inventory

The plant that builds the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and 2013 Buick LaCrosse sedans is being idled again, Automotive News reports. To lessen inventory, production at GM’s Fairfax plant in Kansas City can be suspended for 2 weeks to raised match supply with demand. After production goes on pause for the following two weeks, it’s far scheduled to renew the week of February 17. This is often the second one time the Fairfax plant have been idled inside the last two months. The plant was idled for 3 weeks in late December and early January to attenuate inventory and account for the vacations. GM had a 164-day supply of Malibus at first of December, which was reduced to 129 days by January 1 and 94 days by the top of last...
