Buick Enclave, Verano January Sales Strong, Chevrolet Camaro Down

Sales of Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC products climbed 15.9 percent last month, a powerful showing for the lads and ladies at General Motors. The final sold 194,699 units in January. Listed below are some winners and losers:

The Winners:

Buick Verano: 3660 sales, up 360 percent

Hats off to the Buick Verano: the compact premium sedan sold 3660 units last month. That’s a 360 percent increase from last January, although the Verano was still ramping up production/sales during that point period, so the proportion change is reasonably meaningless. Still, the Verano passed the LaCrosse and Regal to be the preferred passenger car Buick makes, that is definitely an engaging development.

Buick Enclave: 4895 sales, up 56.7 percent

Speaking of Buick, the Enclave finished January up 56.7 percent from last year, closing January with 4895 sales. While it’s still the least popular of the 3 Lambda crossovers (trailing the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse), it was also the main improved last month.

GMC Terrain (8550 sales, up 51.4 percent) and Chevrolet Equinox (17,223 sales, up 26.1 percent)

GM’s mid-size crossovers brought in good returns too: the Chevy Equinox was up 26.1 percent to 17,223 sales. The Terrain’s returns were much more impressive: the trucklet climbed 51.4 percent to 8550 units.

GMC Sierra (12,846 sales, up 35 percent) and Chevrolet Silverado (35,445 sales, up 32 percent)

As it seems, heavily discounting inventories of trucks pays off: GM sold 12,846 GMC Sierras and 35,445 Chevrolet Silverados, increases of 35 and 32 percent, respectively, in January. Combined the trucks sold 48,291 units, actually besting the Ford F-Series (which sold 46,841 units).

The Losers

Chevrolet Camaro: 4925 sales, down 13.7 percent

The Camaro beat its Mustang rival again (4925 to 3608), but it surely was still down 13.7 percent from an analogous time last year. Perhaps we will blame the elements, as Camaros prefer the 2012′s wet, warmer winter to this year’s bitterly cold, snowy one

Cadillac CTS: 2505 sales, down 17 percent

The Cadillac CTS is trudging in the direction of its next-generation, and sales were down some 17 percent last month. Never fear, says GM, because Caddy will unveil and launch an all-new model later this year.

Buick Regal: 1005 sales, down 45.8 percent

The Buick Regal isn’t having an effortless time within the Us of a market: the automobile formerly often known as the Opel Insignia sold just 1005 units last month, 45.8 percent less than January 2012. What’s more distressing is the truth that it was outsold by greater than 3:1 by the smaller Verano.
