Dodge Dart to Blow into Windy City Wearing Mopar Badges, Custom Parts
Chrysler’s Mopar aftermarket group continues its recent tradition of modifying a limited-run of factory-produced cars wearing Mopar branding. This year, it’s the Dodge Dart’s turn, and the package is predicated on a Limited model sporting an unmodified 1.4-liter Multiair I-4 and 6-speed manual transmission.
Blue-painted brake calipers hide behind 18-inch gloss-black wheels, while the car’s black exterior paint gets accented with a whole-length blue racing stripe. A ground-effects package inclusive of a front-chin spoiler, deck-lid spoiler, and rear diffuser, combined with lowering the suspension by 1 / 4-inch, lends the Dart a hunkered-down, means-business look.
Inside, there’s a custom Katzkin leather interior, with a blue driver’s seat with black trim, and black with blue trim at the remainder of the seats (buyers can specify all seats matching in either color, however the unique driver seat is how to go so that it will stand out). Blue stitching, a blue “racetrack” across the dash, light black chrome accents, and custom Mopar shifter, pedals, and splash screens at the dash displays complete the inside makeover. An in-vehicle wireless charging system for smartphones also debuts contained in the Dart. As for performance, steering assist is programmed to provide more heft and feedback, while brakes were upgraded to slotted rotors for optimized performance.
The Mopar 2013 Dodge Dart will debut at next week’s Chicago Auto Show. Stay tuned for pricing, and order fast – only 500 might be produced.
